About Course

This course prepares students for the examination to become a Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).  It is designed for individuals who demonstrate competency in health and safety activities devoted to the prevention of construction illnesses and injuries. The CHST certification meets the Board of Safety Professional’s standards for certifications. Candidates for the CHST certification are typically employed as safety and health specialists on construction job sites.  They may work for an owner, general contractor, subcontractor, or firm involved in construction or construction safety.  Many construction safety professionals use the CHST as a stepping-stone in advancing their careers.

Pre-requisites:

There are no pre-requisites for the course. However, students should have experience in construction safety.

Be confident in successfully completing the CHST exam.

Course Materials:

This course consists of several different components which include power point presentations, lecture, real life case studies, and class discussions.
